“I believe if you are fortunate enough to be a ‘visual’ person, and are encouraged to look at shapes and their relationships, you will get hooked on producing your own version of what you see. A bit of bravery helps as well once you decide to let others see your vision.”
I have been very fortunate in having been asked to do several commissions in and around Anderson. I completed a work of 14 paintings for the Anderson Heritage brochure for downtown Anderson several years ago. The total work was subsequently sold to The Bleckley Inn to be used throughout their facility, along with several additional paintings depicting scenes in and around the buildings.
I am a past president and secretary of the Anderson Arts Center Board of Directors. I was honored to be named as the Volunteer of the Year for 2013. I have been one of several featured artists in a show at the Anderson Arts Center and my work has been included in Anderson Arts Center Juried Shows, Anderson Artists Guild shows, Belton Center for the Arts, and other juried exhibitions, including the 2014 ArtFields in Lake City, South Carolina. I belong to the Anderson Artists Guild and the South Carolina Watermedia Society. I am a partner in the Bay3 Artisan Gallery at the Anderson Arts Center. Bay3 is co-operative gallery which grew from a critique group that began many years ago and has turned into a partnership of local artists who love to create and sell their art.
